Ok… I know I can’t but can you actually believe it’s the last week, the last Wednesday of August? I kid you not it was just August 1st. And to even try and imagine all that has transpired in the last twenty six days from world news, to state events, to local events, from politics to the ongoing racial injustices, to the bizarre occurrences in our weather, to the hundreds of thousands that still remain unemployed – Unbelievable. And yet we know how truly blessed we are to gather here in Faith’s Garden of INspiration for our weekly “Weleful Wednesday” boost. It remains the best day of the week on any day of the week. After all it is the #1 most sacred place on the web today that serves the perfect pinch of tranquility mixed with a dash of courage.
A few weeks ago I was thinking about the people that I know who suffer from lactose intolerance. Unfortunately due to the inability to digest the sugar in milk they will suffer from bloating, gas, vomiting, nausea, pain in the abdomen, and/or diarrhea after eating or drinking dairy products. While these side effects are minor and there is a plethora of over-the-counter meds that will ease the pain, these symptoms can be extremely uncomfortable and may actually even be unbearable at times. Often a result of too little of an enzyme produced in the small intestine most people either give up those things that cause them the problems or they manage and monitor their consumption so they won’t suffer as much. INTERESTING… Why? Because as I pondered on this concept and began to apply it to this journey called LIFE it hit me and just about knocked the wind out of me. We all; you, me, us, them, need to become 100%, not 99% but 100% Lactose Intolerant. That’s right. There is no more time for us to just sit back and manage or monitor those things that cause us harm no matter how minimal the side effects may be. We need to be more proactive and refuse to digest those things that cause us any type of discomfort, ill feelings, emotional imbalance, indecisiveness about who we are and the value of our purpose. We must become Lactose Intolerant to those things that cause use to act unseemly, to speak words, phrases, or statements from our mouths that damage the hearts, the minds, the souls, and the spirits of others and the overall environment. We must become Lactose Intolerant to those things that are set in place to keep us beneath them, below them, and behind them!!! We must become Lactose Intolerant to the pity parties we throw for ourselves when things aren’t going exactly according to the plan that we mapped out. We must become Lactose Intolerant to settling for less, to being undermined by the oppressor, from being under-rated by the invisible yet powerful inequalities across the many core facets of life – education, housing, wealth, etc. to name a few. You see the more we allow and the longer we allow these things to bring us discomfort the more damaging they become over time. No matter how much they tell us that the over-the-counter medications work just fine (painting Black Lives Matters on the streets, removing iconic symbols that represent the attempt to eliminate our existence, defunding a few police departments, etc.)… WE CAN LONGER ACCEPT THE TEMPORARY FIXES!!! 100% Lactose Intolerant!!! And for my brothers and sisters in the Gospel of Jesus Christ we must continue to be Lactose Intolerant to the devices of the enemy, to our flesh, to unbelief, to neglecting and/or ignoring the Word of God, and to minimizing the power that worketh within us!!! Time is of the essence and there is no more time to waste. So, go ahead and share your thoughts about “Lactose Intolerance” in the comment section below and be sure to hit the “LIKE” button.
