Get out!!! It’s our bestest day of the week – Weleful Wednesday!!! And, that’s right, it’s August 1, 2018. This is so absolutely splendiferous and frabjous. Listen… If for whatever reason you have not yet spoken your victory, spoken your destiny, spoken your mission, spoken your vision, spoken your peace, spoken your joy into existence – NOW is the time to do it!!!
Today I’d like share a piece that I wrote back in 1997 titled “Colors”. It’s short yet sweet and of course I’ve added a few more lines to this 2018 version. What is red? Sweet delicious soft chewy candies, long stem fresh cut roses, and how about big red balls lying in the grass after the children have played in the yard? And let’s not forget the blood that runs through our veins once it hits the air and YES, the blood that Jesus shed on the cross!!! What is blue? The beautiful waters along the coast, bubble gum ice cream topped with whip cream, our patched up 501 Levi jeans from high school, the sky in which we write our dreams and keep our hope alive, and a classic 1954 Chevy pick-up truck. What is yellow? Springtime daises growing by the hundreds in the field, little sour lemons picked right from the tree in the midst of the early morning dew, and school buses in different shapes and sizes along the highway at 6am full of brilliant creative children eager to learn. What is purple? The juicy cold scrumptious grapes in the crystal glass bowl, the sunset across the pacific on a warm summer night, and the color that symbolizes our ambition, wisdom, and wealth. What is green? The plants all through the house from the living room to the den to the hallway, the Popsicles given out at lunch as a nice cool treat, the nutritious spinach we mix up in almost any meal, and the color of our traffic light as we pursue our next level of #GREATERNESS. What is brown? The soil in which we grow our fruits and veggies, the guitar that brings such a cool country melody, our soft yet tough silky multi-colored shades of skin, our children graduating top of their class from Ivy League and HBC Universities across the country, and the prestigious medals we have won for our countless contributions to this ever changing productive world. What is black? The ink in the pen in which we sign our billion dollar contracts, the courage and the strength of our ancestors who paved the way, the beautiful sparkling sky at night, Egyptian cotton sheets, and the keys on the keyboard in which we create our stories for the world to read. What is pink? What is orange? What is gold? Colors All Around Us… Memorable Vibrant and Powerful – M.V.P So, I ask you – what colors are you thinking of and what do they represent?
