About two months ago I found myself pondering on “Payroll Deductions” – I mean there is just so much that has to be covered – taxes, health benefits, Social Security, savings account, retirement, etc. Even if you’re an entrepreneur, with your own business, you may not have the exact same deductions yet there are items that must be accounted for no matter what. I never doubted nor do I question that each one holds a certain level of validity yet… Wow… they hit hard. Now, I cannot begin to tell you why my mind went there or why I choose to ponder so long on this concept of “deductions”. However; what I do know is that on this journey called LIFE we experience deductions on a variety of levels for a variety of reasons in variety of ways. Think about it. The loss of a loved one is a major deduction to what we once viewed as our awesome status quo yet it’s a part of life. I mean we have people in our lives that we love to the moon and back and around again and they become such a major part of our much appreciated and much valued routine and then in a blink of an eye they’re gone. As a child we lose our baby teeth so we can get our permanent teeth. For some children the excitement of the “tooth fairy” leaving something under the pillow is worth the pain of that tooth coming out or even being pulled out but for other children they could care less because that pain is not what they would volunteer to endure. Then as pre-teens/teens we tend to lose our “baby” faces, “baby” voices, and “baby” physiques and while for many this can be extremely exciting for some it is straight h*$$. Remember, our hormones change and we lose that sweet innocence of bliss and corky silliness. Deductions – It’s just a natural part of life. Some of us may even experience a divorce which for many could mean a deduction in stress but for others it may mean a deduction of the heart or even the soul. As we age we experience a deduction in how we are able to process information (maybe we have to hear things three times before we actually get it instead of once), in how our bodies are not able to process certain foods as quickly and how we may have to do longer/harder workouts, in how we plan our days so we’re back home by a certain time. Maybe a 30 year friendship is severed for any given reason and that connection no longer exists. Maybe there’s some relocation from a residence, neighborhood or community that you resided in since childhood and while the new residence is full of greater potential that deduction of familiarity causes a form of anxiety. These deductions change our lives and change our perspective yet we remain forever growing, forever learning, and forever victorious… Deductions - It’s just a natural part of life. This is powerful, often times you never really think about those things as deductions, but you are so right. Thank you for your insight. Blessings
