The Power of Her Presence… Sista… Sista… Sista

Who would have ever imagined that the time would go by this fast? It seems like it was just January and now here we are in October. One thing is for sure this chapter in history, this year 2020, has taught some of us, reminded some of us, and reiterated to many of us the power of genuine unfiltered and unconditional love. That’s right it’s time for us to marinate in our “Weleful Wednesday” boost – the best day of the week on any day of the week. Remember… it is the most sacred #1 place on the web today. The only garden loaded with a fresh perspective, organic outlook, and invaluable insight.

Over ten years ago I wrote a short piece titled “Sista”. At the time it was very personal because it was about my own sister yet over the years I came to realize it could be about anybody’s sister – biological or not. You see sometimes on this journey called LIFE we all acquire sisters in various seasons of our lives. Some sisters we even adopt for the long haul – those that are there through thick and thin, in the trenches of the challenges, the barriers, and the potential setbacks as well as on the seas of the sweet victories over time. Enjoy this piece and if you haven’t done so lately… call, text, write, email, duo your “Sista(s)” and let her know how much you appreciate, adore, love, respect, and support her.

“Sista”

Not knowing what “sista” really means could even be worse
but havin’ a sista, even just one sista
not quite understanding da fact that you’d be first
takin time to dress, washin hair, wiping da tears
and sometimes just watchin sista make a total mess
laughin ‘til your cheeks turn red
walkin to the store on the coldest of nights
just ain’t nothin’ like watchin a sista grow out of her “baby” sista bed
yes times can get rough
just not knowing what sista might do but all the while sista gets wise and sista gets tough
all that holding, protecting, and comforting along the way
just to see what baby sista decides to do
riding her bike on the boardwalk of choices and decisions and playing the games of success with pure grit and grind and
then BAM one day she’s in da kitchen cookin’ with ole school shortening and ain’t paying negativity absolutely no mind
yep I must say a sista is truly a friend, an ear to listen, and a loving hand to hold in da end
Oh... I’m so berry glad I have my sista

Love it and you are certainly right. I love all my sisters but they all have different personalities. But before we hang up a phone we always tell each other I love you💛🥰😍😘
